Click a station to close it. Click a track segment to close that stretch, which is how weekend diversions actually work.

Nothing is closed — the network is at its baseline.

About

MBTA GTFS assigns a separate stop identifier to each direction of travel, so the naive network graph fragments into six disconnected pieces. Resolving stops to their parent station collapses 265 platform nodes into 125 real stations and yields a single connected network of 127 track segments.

Segments carry the median scheduled run time between adjacent stations. Times are scheduled rather than observed, and the feed rounds them to the minute.

With only three independent cycles, the network is very nearly a tree — which is why 110 of 125 stations are articulation points.
